yesterday afternoon i went out to shinjuku 3-chome to shop ❤ i love shopping in japan ;w; everything looks nice! i don't really go shopping back home because i rarely find stuff that i like, but here there are lots of stuff that are totally my style ~w~ it's expensive though… i have to budget my monthly stipend carefully from now on XD;; i wanted to go to isetan actually but i went to the wrong exit and wound up at marui instead XD which is equally addictive, i must say…

promotional truck for the new movie, 僕の初恋をキミに捧ぐ i give my first love to you starring inoue mao ❤ i really want to watch this movie, actually! the theme song is by hirai ken 😀

my heaven

6th floor of marui is where the kimono section is located at ❤

i spent a lot time here lol

i think i’m gonna save my money so i can buy at least one brand new kimono for myself ❤ it's about 10,000円 for a new komon ❤ i saw the most adorable coordinate ever here ;w;

a tenugui specialty shop, selling various stuff made from modern and traditional japanese fabrics

japanese department stores have lots of cute shops ❤

samantha thavasa. i like the mickey handbag but everything in this shop made my eyes bulge in shock lol

an old japanese man doing some rough sketching by the roadside

tokyo, a city filled with pedestrian crossings

saturday is when everyone comes out to spend money

OIOI, which is read as “marui” in japan. “maru” refers to the circle 🙂

the entrance to isetan. compared to marui and keio, isetan is one of the more traditional department stores of japan

the entrance looks pretty intimidating. but the service in japan is really good, so you don’t have to worry about going in!

more department stores! i like the cylindrical-shaped elevator, which is made of glass

after that, i stumbled across uniqlo and went in because they were having a sale ❤ long sleeved tees from disney and hallmark for 990円 each *o*

i reaaaaaaaaally like this shirt but they only had it in L size 😦

sometimes i wish malaysia was a more open-minded country

i’m glad i didn’t go out yesterday because today i splurged in the best ways possible ❤

i woke up around 6am this morning

by the time i washed up and changed, it looked like this.

after eating some egg porridge for breakfast, i walked to takadanobaba station to catch the 7am train to harajuku.

an eerily empty takeshita street. since it was early, there was nobody here because the shops in japan generally open at 10am

it was a good chance to take photos of all the grafitti art at takeshita st. lol

😀 flea markets are among the best places to hunt for unexpected surprises

and the best place to hunt for awesomely cheap kimonos!!!

not too many stalls but i can foresee myself coming here every month! XD

lots of people take their dogs out for walks in the mornings and evenings ❤

it's really rare but i spotted some women in kimono at harajuku (of all places!) ❤

after that, i took the subway from meiji jingu to shinjuku-sanchome to visit hanazono shrine since there’s also supposed to be flea market of sorts there every sunday

calligraphic art design on the walls of the subway… it was really simple but beautiful!

awesome stained-glass style art with lots of rabbits!

another one, except this one was more like a pastel sketch. i think it’s done by the same person 😀

the shrine is located right beside the E2 exit of the station… i was really excited to see all the kimono on display!!! ❤ there were lots of them, including an uchikake (wedding kimono) and lots of furisode. i’ll have to save up to get at least one!

some photos around the shrine :

empty glass bottles as interior decoration at the train station

these people were waiting for isetan to open lol (it opens at 10am). well i was one of them too, since i wanted to get something… the service in isetan is really good, and the kimono department was heaven! ❤

i spotted the new vs arashi poster at the shinjuku-sanchome station!! ❤ *wants to steal it*

today’s little happiness 🙂

a surprisingly well-versed message in english ❤ this was from the entrance of a hair salon

a fat cat lazing in the sun on someone’s car lol. it barely flinched when i went near it to take this photo

all in all, i bought 4 kimonos, 1 hanhaba obi and a new hanjuban (something like an underkimono, only half in length and attached with a han eri) from isetan ❤ *is satisfied* next on the list would be tabi and zori!

i bought a really beautiful iromuji, with awesome cloud patterns in rinzu silk

a red silk komon. the red and white part would be the inside of the kimonoasanoha motif, how cute!

a red and beige komon made of chirimen, with a yabane motif <3<3 it has a really antique-look which i love! i could actually use this as a graduation kimono lol but i would prefer a purple one

a super cute polka dot komon! i don’t usually wear clothes with polka dots but this looked perfect on me so i couldn’t resist >w< not really sure about the material though, it's not silk but it's not chirimen either… it feels a little rough but not polyester… hmm.

on saturday, i met up with angel for the first time and we went to harajuku to buy something (more on that later). after getting what we wanted, i suggested going to togo shrine because there was supposed to be a flea market there every sunday. we took some time to find out where the place was (and got there in the end thanks to a nice university student) and i was so disappointed to find that there was no flea market whatsoever.

though, things reaaaaaaally brightened up all of a sudden…

because i got to witness a traditional shinto wedding procession! i was this close to them 😀 sigh. i do so love kimonos.

pathway to the garden of the shrine

there was a smaller torii there so i could take a photo without making myself look really tiny

the garden and the lake of togo shrine

then we proceeded to go through takeshita-doori again to go to meiji jingu shrine. but before that!

a photo of hiro looking happy at the entrance of takeshita-doori

one of the humongous torii gates to the meiji jingu shrine, which are made of cypress wood

spotted another wedding procession and i couldn’t resist taking a picture of one of the girls in the procession because her furisode was so vibrant! it was perfect for autumn and i love the coordination. the bright colors really added to the serious crowd of black suits, dresses and formal kurotomesode

i was quite disappointed when i took this because it came out blurry, but now that i look at it again, i really love the feeling of movement it gives off

one of the relatives, i suppose 😀 she’s really cute

another wedding procession. this would be the end of the procession, as opposed to the earlier one that was just starting. i love the bride’s kimono! the formal black furisode with the gold maruobi looks perfect, and it’s really shiny in the hot sun XD i don’t envy her wearing that kimono under the hot burning sun… the weather forecast lied. it said that it would be like 19 degrees so i brought my jacket out with me, but in the end it became baggage since it was too hot to wear it D<

another young lady in furisode spotted! ❤

i love the shoes and outfit worn by the head priest! ❤

two-shot with angel 😀

a self-shot in front of the wine barrels but you can barely see them here lol

after that, we went to shinjuku because i wanted to check out the arashi section in tower records (of course, what else would i do other than look around for arashi stuff?)! i was so happy to find a really nice arashi section/corner on display ♥

the entrance to tower records shinjuku. can you spot the arashi corner yet?

from the side :3 this is where they place their concert dvds

from the front~! i’m glad the sales are still continuing even after their first one million mark ♥ i contributed to that too! i bought the album when i first arrived XD

another arashi corner!!! they have 2 corners in one shop, how awesome is that? ♥ more concert dvds~

all the best! 1999-2009 normal edition ;_; i want the limited edition, damnit…

their other albums 😀 i bought one… was hesitating between one and dream-a-live but in the end i took one because it was the only copy left (that, and himitsu ♥♥♥)

their singles 😀

from here on, everything is for kp 😀 hahah please tell me you appreciate me doing this lol

her singles. i’ll get you one for your birthday, which one do you want? XD

you preordered it already but i thought you’d like this 😀

and this as well

then on the way back to takadanobaba we managed to get onto the first carriage, so we had the chance to look at the control panel 😀 we tried to take a photo of ourselves with the driver but as you can see, the only part of the driver visible in this photo is his hand. it counts, anyway.

had lunch 😀 i almost died eating this set, it was too much for me D: i shouldn’t have eaten the ice cream at harajuku… this set was really cheap though, 590yen for a double dose of gyoza, some karaage, rice, and soup! someone could order this, and two people can actually share it, if you order one more bowl of rice 😀

😀 i may be smiling now, but halfway through i was eating really slowly because i was feeling really full lol XD it was really good though!

had a great time, thanks angel for the great company!

oh, and the thing we went to harajuku to buy?

no words can describe 😀 my first ever ayu concert!!! can’t wait for this >w<

there were too many people this year, which made it really stuffy 😦 the dust was awful too, since there was no rain the night before. we were all practically inhaling dust while dancing, so we left before it ended, which was a first for us. it was fun though, we prepared our own food so we don’t have to line up for ages for lousy food (though we bought icecream from the stalls… the lines for the kakikoori were too long!). i was so happy to be able to dress myself really nicely this time >w< had the chance to use my new koshi himo that i bought from japan, which was 100% wool so i didn’t feel that suffocated compared to my old cotton himo.

anyhow! pictures from the event 😀

the nehs ♥

awesome shot, like the one we took in furisode in japan (but that ray of light is in my face, damnit)

two-shot with my baby >w< do we look like sisters? 😀

group photo! ♥ hahah cherrinessa, you can really see your tan in this photo…

our sushi…

and homemade korokke! we made too much and couldn’t finish them all 😦

candid profile shot of cherrinessa 😀 that’s the temari kanzashi i bought from kyoto! it really suits the yukata she was wearing~

a nice and natural candid shot of me and vivi! i love this photo (>w<)

my favourite shot of myself XD

with tsu-chan~! she was so so cute!

our kinchaku 😀 i love the colors!

with teddy ♥

self-explanatory

neh with cotton candy

she always look good in candid shots lol 😀 that’s the ice cream that we had! all of us had different flavours~

cute shot of vivi with ice cream hahah

😀 i want more yukata outings! let’s go out for purikura and parfaits ♥
